Logic Puzzle

One of my students gave me a puzzle on Tuesday and I've been sharing it with everyone. So, I thought why not share it with everyone on my blog, too. Here goes...

You have three buckets: one 10L bucket, one 7L bucket, and one 3L bucket. There is 10L of water in the 10L bucket. The other two are empty. With no other measuring devices, how can you transfer water between the buckets to end up with 5L in the 10L bucket and 5L in the 7L bucket.

Post me your answers. Good Luck!

  1. What?! I don't know! You pour 1/2 of what was in the 10L bucket into the 7L bucket?!?!
